These malignancies are named according to the site where they are originated.

If they are originated in breast tissues, then it's called Breast Cancer. And if that travels from originated site to other areas, then it's called Metastasis.

Breast Cancer is the Second most common death-causing disease in women after Skin cancer.

Normally, increasing age is a major risk factor as about 66% of patients are diagnosed after 55 years of age.

Normally, two types of surgery are done for breast cancer treatment, which is Lumpectomy and Mastectomy. There is another procedure also that's Breast Reconstructive Surgery.

Lumpectomy is a procedure in which the surgeon removes the affected part of the breast with some of its surrounding cells.

Sometimes, Lymph nodes may be removed and then radiation therapy is done for almost 6 weeks to treat the remaining cells.

Patients at the early and small stages are good candidates.

Mastectomy is another surgical procedure in which complete breast removal is done. Only recommended if cancer is all over the breast.

Breast Reconstructive Surgery is a procedure in which a flap of artificial tissue is inserted by a plastic surgeon.

This procedure is of two types, named Prosthetic and Tissue Flap.

In Prosthetic, the surgeon creates a shape of the breast with artificial implant filling of saline or silicone.

In Tissue Flap, the surgeon creates shape after taking tissues from different parts of the body like the Stomach, Back, Buttocks, and Thighs to rebuild the shape.

Radiation Therapy- A well-known Breast Cancer Treatment

Radiotherapy is a procedure in which high-energy rays similar to x-rays are used to kill cancerous cells. Its normally done on patients over 70, who have got lumpectomy, to destroy remaining cells.

This procedure is recommended by doctors to kill the cancerous cells, which are not killed by surgeons.

Done by machine from outside the body or some type of seeds are inserted into the breast which emits these rays.

Normally this treatment is recommended at the early stage of cancers.
